An MC is not the person who talks the most. He is the one who reads the room, knows which elder is greeted first, feels when a programme is running long, and moves the day forward without anybody noticing they were moved.

I work in Sepedi and English and I move between them the way your families actually speak. A homestead in Limpopo and a lodge in the North West want the same thing from an MC, and they want it delivered differently. That judgement is the job.

A deposit secures it. From there the day is mine to prepare for, names, order and all.

Before the guests. Sound checked, programme confirmed with your family, and then we begin.
